The Circles for Reconciliation team is pleased to present our 2024 Newsletter. We know that you will find many stories of hope and advancement of the reconciliation journey within the pages.
This edition of the newsletter has been edited and designed through the dedicated creative work of Leena Tetrault, our volunteer social media and web content person. Leena is also a full-time student at the University of Winnipeg pursuing studies in biochemistry and Indigenous studies.
Leena’s work follows the contributions of Rick Demas who had completed the editorship of our 2023 edition just before his untimely passing on April 8th, 2024.
The link between Leena and Rick, our entire team, and you, the reader, is a committed belief to the true principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report, especially the 94 Calls to Action. This core work underpins our dedication and willingness to persist in a continual forward movement on the path to reconciliation, pivoting and adjusting as required for generations to come.
There are changes in the non-profit world and less funding for reconciliation efforts has become challenging. We do want to emphasize the particular financial challenge that our work is facing at this point in time. Funding sources have never been more scarce and future endeavours may be affected.
We hope that you will partner with us in keeping this path to reconciliation work flowing. Your support and every donation will count. We are appreciative of your registrations, patience and commitment. CFR is now working towards to the National Indigenous Peoples Day Community Barbeque and the circles of course with limited team members temporarily. We have dedication to this work and will keep moving on those stepping stones with all of you.
This is particular edition is dedicated to Rick’s hard work and life as a Residential School Survivor and all others who were in or never returned home from these terrible schools.

Thank you for pursuing the path of reconciliation!
